This calculator calls 50,000 to 99,999 XRP the Whale tier. Its named tiers are fixed holding ranges, not measured wallet percentiles or an official XRP classification.
How many XRP do I need to be in the top 1%?
We do not have a verified current threshold for the top 1% of all XRP wallets. The calculator uses stored thresholds or illustrative estimates and shows their limitations. The 50,000 XRP Whale tier does not establish a global percentile.
How are the percentile thresholds calculated?
The refresh endpoint sorts an XRPSCAN balance sample and reads balances at the selected percentile positions. We have not verified that the sample covers all XRP wallets. Stored values may also come from older fallback estimates, so they do not establish a global rank.
Is it safe to enter my XRP wallet address?
Yes. The lookup is read-only. We only fetch the public balance from the XRPL. Your address is never stored in our database, never sent to analytics, and never associated with any personal data. We return the balance number only. That's it.
What is a Mega-Whale in XRP?
Mega-Whale is this calculator's name for holdings of 1,000,000 XRP or more. The name describes a fixed token range; it does not imply a particular share of wallets or a fixed USD value.
How often do whale thresholds change?
There is currently no scheduled refresh job. Stored threshold dates are shown below the calculator. When no usable stored value exists, the calculator uses an illustrative estimate instead.
What is the difference between a Whale and a Humpback?
On this calculator, Whale means 50,000 to 99,999 XRP and Humpback means 100,000 to 999,999 XRP. Both are fixed named tiers, separate from any threshold-based percentile estimate.

Large holders can influence price when they make significant moves on exchanges. The XRP community closely watches whale wallet activity. Large inflows to exchanges are often interpreted as selling pressure, while outflows signal accumulation.
