How the scores are set
Three of the six scores follow a short rubric applied to facts we have sourced (see each coin page's Sources). The scores are whole numbers set by hand, not live data, and none of them is an ISO certification or a regulatory approval.
- ISO Integration. The tier order is fixed. 8 = RMG member (RippleNet is on ISO's Registration Management Group member list, archived March 2026; XRP scores 8, not higher, because message-level specifics are unverified and the token itself cannot be ISO 20022 compliant). 6 = the project describes its own ISO 20022 messaging product, vendor description only (XDC, QNT; tied, because no ISO-specific evidence separates them). 3 = adjacent, with no sourced ISO 20022 messaging product (HBAR, ALGO, IOTA, ADA). Stellar gets 4, one point above the other adjacent coins, only because ISO 20022 wording appears in a Stellar Development Foundation case study about a third-party application.
- Regulation. 7 = named as an example digital commodity in the March 2026 SEC/CFTC joint interpretation (XRP, XLM, HBAR and ADA among the futures-backed examples, plus ALGO, which the release names as a digital commodity without a futures contract). XRP then loses one point (6) while the August 2024 final judgment, with its $125,035,150 penalty and injunction against Ripple, remains in effect. 4 = no US classification sourced, meaning not named in the release (IOTA, QNT, XDC). XDC's voluntary MiCA-format white paper earns nothing extra because no EU authority has approved it.
- Speed = finality points + throughput points, each 1 to 5, from the figures on each coin's spec row. Finality (range midpoint): under 1 s = 5, 1 to 3 s = 4, over 3 to 5 s = 3, over 5 to 7 s = 2, longer or probabilistic = 1. Throughput: 10,000+ = 5, 5,000 to 9,999 = 4, 1,000 to 4,999 = 3, 100 to 999 = 2, under 100 = 1. A figure a project reports about itself without a public measurement (a target, or one labelled self-reported, Hedera-reported or IOTA-reported) counts one band lower. Measured or observed figures count at face value. Quant is a layer-0 with no chain of its own, so its 5 is a neutral placeholder, not a measurement.

Adoption, Dev Activity and Market strength are editorial judgment with no formula. All six are set by hand and revised when we review, not computed live. Treat them as a structured opinion, not a market feed.
Speed = finality plus throughput of the network, as listed on each coin's spec row. Adoption = real-world usage and named partners (editorial). Dev Activity = how actively the protocol is being built (editorial). Regulation = the coin's sourced US regulatory standing. Market = liquidity and market-cap strength (editorial). ISO Integration = how substantiated the ISO 20022 connection is: RMG member (RippleNet) above vendor-described ISO 20022 product (XDC, QNT) above adjacent with no sourced product. Only RippleNet appears on ISO's RMG member list, and no coin can be certified, so no coin scores a 10 here.
A bigger shape means higher scores across the board, but the SHAPE matters as much as the size: a lopsided radar signals a coin that is strong on some dimensions and weak on others — often exactly where its risk lives. Read it with the coin's Risks section. Not financial advice.
