SEP-24
Crypto ProtocolSEP-24 is the Stellar standard for interactive, anchor-hosted deposits and withdrawals — a wallet hands the user off to the anchor's own web interface to complete KYC and payment details.
SEP-24 ("Hosted Deposit and Withdrawal") defines how a Stellar wallet initiates a deposit or withdrawal by calling an anchor's interactive endpoint; the anchor returns a hosted webpage (opened in a webview) where the user completes KYC, picks a payment method, and enters details, then reports status back to the wallet. The anchor owns the compliance UI, so wallets don't have to build it themselves.
SEP-24 differs from its siblings by interaction model: SEP-6 is the older, non-interactive programmatic flow (largely superseded); SEP-24 is the interactive hosted retail flow; and SEP-31 is direct institution-to-institution payments with no retail UI. The current SEP-24 spec (updated 2025) moved initiation to POST/form-data and requires authentication on all endpoints for security.
For everyday users, SEP-24 is the mechanism behind "deposit fiat, get a Stellar asset" inside a wallet app — the standardized on/off-ramp that makes XLM and Stellar stablecoins usable without leaving the wallet or trusting a bespoke integration.
